Tips to a Successful Babysitting Experience

I have babysat for my sister and friends a few times and feel like I've become really good at it. Having two kids in the house is a daunting task, but it never hurts to practice just in case I am blessed with twins in the future. Below are tips that ensure that my experiences go as smoothly as possible.

Remove Your Babies Favorite Toys Before Hand

Every kid has those toys they love so much that they will not share with anyone no matter what. These may even include utensils. Leaving them lying around is a recipe for disaster. Trust me when I tell you that I have seen kids fighting with chairs, scratching and biting each other over toys. If you do not want to deal with the headache, put them away.

Let Them Know that You Mean Business

Kids can really step all over you if you let them. Though I am all for spanking, I am not comfortable spanking someone else's kid. When my child is acting up though, I spank her a little in the presence of the visiting kid and this tells her/him that I am not to be messed with. It works

When they are Quiet, they are up to no Good

Whether they like each other or not, children work as a team when they are doing something bad. The moment you start thinking that they are behaving since you've not heard anyone yell for the last five minutes, think again. Chances are, they are painting your bedroom walls with your lipstick.

Have a Series of Activities Lined up to Keep them Busy all Day

When you have more than one kid in the house, you will not be able to cuddle or hold any of them for long. Your own kid will probably not allow it anyway. To keep them busy and away from your arms, have a number of activities lined up. Remember that their attention span is very short and they get bored pretty quickly.
