10 Tips to Healthy Eating

A healthy eating plan is one effective way of controlling the body weight and avoiding common lifestyle diseases. It need not be hard and stressful; here are ten tips that will make it extra easy for you.

Avoid carbonated drink

Eat slower

Take small bites and chew your food at least 13 times before taking the next bite. This allows the stomach to fill up faster without having to eat so much food.

Take a glass of water before eating

Taking water before eating tricks the body into thinking that you are not so hungry thus reducing the possibility of overeating.
Eat only till you are full

Listen to your body as you eat and leave your plate immediately you've had enough. Avoid taking more food than required.

Never skip breakfast

Breakfast is important as it maintains the optimal metabolism which when lowered can actually result to increased weight gain. A high metabolic rate will also increase your rate of shedding the weight thus working to your advantage.

Minimize your intake of sugar, salt and white flour

White sugar, salt and flour are not good for your health and their intakes should be minimized as much as possible.

Reduce your intake of saturated fats

Instead of taking saturated fats, take unsaturated ones from oily fish, avocados, nuts and vegetables.

Take more fish

Take oily fish at least twice in a week.

Increase your intake of fresh fruits and green vegetables

Make sure you eat you eat fruits and vegetables with each meal to ensure that you are getting the recommended amount of vitamins and minerals daily.

Drink lots of water
